Google has released an awesome in-browser anatomy viewer to demo the new 3D graphics capabilities of their Chrome development version. It lets you explore the human body in all its glory in a Google Earth-like style. Individual anatomic layers (skin, muscles, bones, etc.) can be selected or for exploring, but can also be made semi-transparent on an individual level. Labels can be displayed. They promises that the body anatomy is completely searchable. USA Today noted that it is the Google Earth of Human Body.
The demo is available in Google labs and accessible on http://bodybrowser.googlelabs.com. As this is a WebGL application, it requires WebGL enabled browsers like Chrome 9 Beta, Chrome 9 Dev Channel, Chrome Canary Build or Firefox 4 beta. WebGL is a technique that enables 3D graphics within the browser without the use of plugins. If you visit the site in a supported web browser, you’ll get a three-dimensional layered model of the human anatomy that you can zoom in on, rotate and search labels
